I’ve been working with Intellectual Property since 2001 when I joined the Intellectual Property Office as Technical information Specialist.
I led Public Awareness and Education, Patent information Systems and the provision of Patent Information Services. While there I served as Secretary of the National Intellectual Property Policy Committee that drafted the first National IP Policy.
The University of London awarded me a Postgraduate Certificate in IP Law. I’m a WIPO certified Trainer at the National Intellectual Property Training Centre of Trinidad and Tobago. I’ve completed a number of WIPO Distance Learning Courses over the years including Copyright and Related Rights, Intellectual Property Management, Arbitration and Mediation under the WIPO rules and Patent Searching and Patent Drafting.
I served as Media Licensing and Licensing Manager responsible for licensing revenue and enforcement, Company Secretary, CEO and Director at Music and Reprographic rights CMOs.
In 2012 I formed my own firm specialising in IP Management and IP protection.
I also read for a BSc Agriculture at UWI and hold an Advanced Diploma in Business Administration.
I was elected a Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing in 2001 and a Member of the Chartered Management Institute in 2022.
